Annual
Appalachian & Bluegrass Music Festival usually takes place the first weekend of September at the Ulster American Folk Park in Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland. This is a must for all fans of Bluegrass and American Folk music. Thousands of visitors annually make the pilgrimage to the Ulster American Folk Park on the first weekend of September to see one of the largest festivals of its kind in Europe. Musicians and dancers from all over the world perform to hugely appreciative audiences in the unique setting of the outdoor museum. Festival programme includes ‘Bluegrass in the Park’ afternoon sessions, evening concerts, Bluegrass Camp for Kids, Sunday evening gospel concert, music workshops and lectures.

The Association of Irish Musical Societies (AIMS) holds its annual choral festival. The first AIMS Choral Festival was held in Birr, Co. Offaly in 1980 where it ran for a number of years. In 1985 the festival was revived and located in New Ross, Co. Wexford where it has remained since.

Phil Murphy Weekend, Carrig-on-Bannow, Co Wexford. July 25-27, 2008
Phil Murphy devised a playing technique for the diatonic harmonica involving modal music and vamping accompaniment with spectacular effect when added to fast reels and jigs. He passed his technique onto his sons, John and Pip. This festival remembers Phil Murphy.
There will the usual plethora of sessions and workshops.

Strawberry Festival, Enniscorthy, June 25-29, 2008
Enniscorthy Strawberry Festival is a long-standing veteran of the county's festival world. Music, theatre, street entertainment, funfairs, markets and kids' activities. There are also Viking battle re-enactments and live music on the bandstand in Market Square. Doubles up with County Wexford Agricultural Show this year (11am, Sun, June 29).
