Vinegar Hill Battle Re-enactment, Enniscorthy - Aug 1.2 2015
Two days of free fun for all the family with rebels and redcoats lining up to do battle again - and, who knows, maybe the rebels will come out on top this time! Bus loads of red coats are crossing the Irish Sea with musket and powder for the occasion. The two big events not to miss are the "Make Ready, Present Fire!" rebel attack on the redcoats at Market Square (1pm, Sat) and the Vinegar Hill battle with cavalry assaults, canon fire, musket volleys and pike charges (2pm, Sun). There will be open-air live music plus pub gig trail, traditional crafts demos, foraging for wild food with Mary White, displays and exhibitions, "Rebels v Redcoats" polocrosse, antiques fair ... and strawberries and cream. www.vinegarhill.ie
Gorey Market House Festival, July 28-31, 2016
Gorey Market House Festival has become one of the leading family festivals in the Southeast. Events in the past have included Boutique Boulevard, Ireland's favourite open air Fashion Show; open-air Farmers Market, food demonstrations and "Put your Best Pot Forward" search for the best pot of jam in Ireland hosted by Green's Berry Farm. Saturday afternoon brings the ever popular Play Day with a range of childrens activities all of which are free. On Sunday the Main Street is the centre stage for the Festival Market with crafts, local produce, vintage rally, steam engines and more. Gorey has a proud tradition of nurturing and supporting the arts and the festival has many quality exhibitions over the weekend.

One of the stops on the Irish Kitesurfing Association tour, the Kitefest offers spectators the opportunity to witness the very best junior, female and male riders from across Ireland and Europe as they compete over the weekend in a series of course racing events. The hugely popular kitefest guarantees a beach party atmosphere with tonnes of activities for the young and old alike.

Bunclody Horticultural Society Show - Aug 2016
The Annual Bunclody Horticultural Society Show is a celebration of the richness of traditional crafts and skills in the area and includes Cookery, Crafts, Agricultural and Horticultural produce. A family fun day including the very popular art exhibition from local and national artists, with junior and senior sections in art, photography, short-story and writing competitions. The flower section entries always draw gasps of admiration. And the competition in the Home Produce section is very strong in all classes. Gorey Bee Keepers will exhibit their bee keeping skills and you’ll get to meet a Queen bee!

New Ross Piano Festival - New Ross, Sept 22-25, 2016
New Ross Piano Festival. Not just one classical concert, but a weekend crammed with them. That's what you get at the New Ross Piano Festival. In addition to the classical concerts there are "play me" pianos in public places, free al fresco jazz piano sessions downtown, outreach concerts for students, and a masterclass for advanced students.
For the 11th piano festival the concerts will feature leading international pianists Nicholas Angelich and Piers Lane who will join Artistic Director Finghin Collins for the three main concerts. There will be piano quintets with the outstanding Ebène Quartet from France for performances of glorious music by César Franck, Robert Schumann and Gabriel Fauré. The coffee concerts will be given by two distinguished younger pianists: the French Nathalia Milstein, the first female winner of the Dublin International Piano Competition (2015) and New Ross rising star Jonathan Morris.
